Cherokee corruption revealed, oversight disinvited

News Analysis: On Wednesday June 17, Jeffery Pletcher, former senior director of marketing for the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa posted video testimony of political corruption he witnessed. In an exclusive interview with Tulsa Today, Pletcher said he has also provided this testimony and further documentation to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Cherokee National Gaming Commission and the Department of Justice’s U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma Danny C. Williams.

This comes one day after the Cherokee Election Commission informed the internationally recognized Carter Center of the decision by the Commission not to extend an invitation to observe the upcoming Cherokee elections.

Bingman files legislation for OKPOP

Updated: Senate President Pro Tempore Brian Bingman has introduced legislation to provide funding construction for the Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture, better known as OKPOP. Senate Bill 839 provides a $25 million bond issue for construction of the facility, which will be self-sustaining under a comprehensive business plan.

The Senate Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget approved the OKPOP legislation Tuesday afternoon by a vote of 27 to 13.

OKGOP acts to defend Rep. Bridenstine

The Oklahoma Republican Party today announced that television ads have been stopped which were being aired by the American Action Network, a DC-based political action group, who was targeting a number of congressmen who oppose funding the president’s executive amnesty orders via the Department of Homeland Security budget.

AAN was formed in part by former RNC Chief of Staff Mike Shields, and in Oklahoma the ads were designed specifically to pressure Congressman Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) to drop his opposition to the aforementioned DHS budget deal.

Brandi Carlile coming to Cain’s

One of the most dynamic voices in the emerging alt-country/folk-rock world, Brandi Carlile, has “the kind of voice most Nashville producers would be happy to work with: roomy, dark-hued and bittersweet, with a firmness of purpose and pitch,” according to the New York Times.

Carlile headlines Tulsa’s Timeless Honkytonk, Cain’s Ballroom June 3rd, but to make it in the door – plan to purchase tickets early – like real early – like this Friday, February 27 as they go on sale.

“[Carlile] favors one of the classic country-singer devices, an accented break between upper and lower ranges. At times she scoops dramatically up to a note, like a slide guitarist. And in the harmonies she strikes with her creative partners, the twins Tim and Phil Hanseroth, there are hints of bluegrass and Grand Ole Opry twang,” the NY Times added.

Live reports of multiple attacks in Paris

Updated: As night fell in Paris, authorities moved to resolve two different terror efforts. Sky news is reporting that the massacre suspects have now been killed and the kosher supermarket hostages freed. Some attackers are identified as known Al–Qaeda associates.
