Rampage Shootings & Video Games

Until recent  times a rampage shooting was a rare event, but rampage shootings have been a part of world history for years.  Rampage shootings occurred infrequently in the United States until eight occurred in the 1980s.  Some were especially lethal such as the 1984 rampage in a McDonald’s, which resulted in 22 people killed and 19 injured.  In 1986 a postal employee killed 15 people and injured six people, introducing “going postal” into the vernacular.  Since that time the United States has been the epicenter of rampage shootings.

Warning: Much of what follows is “anecdotal,” scorned by the “evidence-based medicine” establishment. We can no longer believe our eyes and ears. Of course, a single or a few observations must be replicated before we change medical practice or societal policy—unless they support a politically correct objective. But what to do in the meantime? Wait for a study that will probably never be done because the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will not fund it?

Or at least listen to our patients and their associates?
