Preview: There is no talk of vaccines. It is too late for many or most migrants, as they have already been infected. Many are too young. And how could we get uncoerced, informed consent for these still-experimental products from masses of non-English speakers? Injecting them would violate international law. How would we find adverse effects in untraceable people? How would we get them their second dose, or manage the large proportion suffering disabling immediate side effects, or treat severe allergic reactions in Border Patrol facilities? Covid-19: CDC vs. Common Sense
By Paul E. Alexander, AIER
The death of Common Sense begins with words initiated by the morass of bureaucracy couched in safety and security. Indeed, and according to former-President Ronald Reagan, the most frightening words to hear in the English language are, ‘We’re here from the government and we’re here to help!’ The underpinnings of such beginnings appear benign and with benign neglect the malignancy storms through, metastasizing arboreally through the veins of the entire system. By NASA Report
The largest, most advanced rover NASA has sent to another world touched down on Mars Thursday, after a 203-day journey traversing 293 million miles. Confirmation of the successful touchdown was announced in mission control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California at 3:55 p.m. EST (12:55 p.m. PST).
“This landing is one of those pivotal moments for NASA, the United States, and space exploration globally – when we know we are on the cusp of discovery and sharpening our pencils, so to speak, to rewrite the textbooks,” said acting NASA Administrator Steve Jurczyk. “The Mars 2020 Perseverance mission embodies our nation’s spirit of persevering even in the most challenging of situations, inspiring, and advancing science and exploration. The mission itself personifies the human ideal of persevering toward the future and will help us prepare for human exploration of the Red Planet.”
