Jonas Brothers light up Tulsa

At the BOK Center recently, Grammy nominated and platinum-selling recording artists, the Jonas Brothers, gave a remarkable performance.  It was exactly what Joe Jonas had hoped it would be–a summer concert the fans here will never forget.

“When the lights went out, imagine 15,000 teenage girls screaming at the top of their lungs creating a sound that I can only imagine pissed off all the dogs in a five mile radius,” Kevin Pyle, Tulsa Today photographer, said.

“Along with that, the 15,000 glow sticks waving in the dark was pretty cool.  Shortly after the death squeal and glow sticks started, Queens ‘We Will Rock You’ started playing.  While the song played in the darkness, the lighting rig lowered from the ceiling all the way down to the raised circular center stage.”
He continued, “Just as the song ended, the LED ring that wrapped around the lowered lighting rig played some JB graphics while lasers drew JB logos on the other parts of the stage.

Then as the lighting rig raised back to the ceiling, the Jonas Brothers rose from out of the center stage playing ‘Paranoid.’  The set was energetic as they managed to cover every square inch of the massive stage, which stretched the entire length of the arena floor.”

The current tour, which spans three continents, featured new music from their Hollywood Records album, "The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009," presented by Burger King, which kicked off in Dallas at New Cowboys Stadium on June 20. Tulsa was one of the first stops following that performance.

Special guests on “The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009” were American Idol winner and Jive Records’ platinum-selling artist, Jordin Sparks, and rising stars, Honor Society.

As previously reported by Tulsa Today, this tour, produced by Live Nation, includes a performance in 44 cities throughout North America in addition to three European dates including recently sold-out shows at Paris’ Zenith Arena and London’s Wembley Arena plus a just-added date at Madrid’s Palacio De Deportes. Additional European shows will be announced soon along with debut tour dates in South America.
