The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Cultural Center and Archives will present a free screening of “This May Be The Last Time,” directed by Muscogee (Creek) citizen Sterlin Harjo. The film will be shown March 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre in Okmulgee. After the screening, Harjo will be available for a question and answer session about the film. The event is open to the public.

“We are excited to be able to provide an opportunity to watch this amazing film and reconnect with our Muscogee (Creek) history and culture,” CCA Special Projects Coordinator Chris Azbell said.

“This May Be The Last Time” explores the tradition of hymns in Native American communities through promising and troubling times.

“I am proud to be able to show the film in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation capitol,” Harjo said. “This film celebrates our songs, history and future.”

Additional screenings of “This May Be The Last Time” are scheduled for March 13-15 at the Orpheum Theatre for an entrance fee of $5.

Sterlin Harjo

Harjo grew up in Holdenville, Okla. and at the age of 23 was accepted into the Sundance Institutes Filmmakers Lab where he developed his first film, “Four Sheets to the Wind.” The film premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was screened at film festivals around the world.

Harjo has gained critical and audience acclaim from his other works including: “Goodnight, Irene,” “Barking Water,” and “Cepanvkuce Tutcenen/Three Little Boys.” He is a founding member of The 1491s, a comedy group.
