In the wake of the VA scandal, Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma calls on President Obama to nominate a new VA Secretary who has the management skills, leadership ability and determination to correct the myriad failings at the agency.
In the Weekly Republican Address, Coburn also says the President needs to use the tools he already has to clean up his administration’s systemic failure of management at the Department of Veterans Affairs. “Veterans who have survived war should no longer have to do battle with bureaucracy to access the best possible care,” Coburn says. “It’s time to give our combat-impacted veterans the very best care that they have earned and deserve.”
‘Next week, I will be releasing an oversight report that exposes a culture within the VA where vets are not always a priority and in which administrators manipulate both data and employees to give an appearance that all is well,’ Coburn added.
