Festivals downtown

Updated:  Mayfest and the Blue Dome Arts Festival report record crowds with fabulous weather.

Reports from both festivals note crowds are enjoyed art, music and festival food in abundance.

Published reports suggest 365,000 people attended the two festivals two blocks apart.

One Mayfest vender told the daily newspaper that "she had more lookers than buyers during the festival, but got good leads on places to show [fine] art in Tulsa."

A Blue Dome artist told this writer the exact opposite, "sales were better this year than last.  So good that we thought about closing Saturday night, but decided stay Sunday and sell what little we had left.  It’s been a record festival for us."

Of the two, Mayfest is a selected national art festival where the Blue Dome is a more open local art festival that typically offers less expensive art.
