The Stone Temple Pilots have canceled their upcoming Tulsa concert according to a press release issued by record label Atlantic Records. The show, which was previously scheduled to take place in October, was pushed back earlier this fall. Now the band has decided to cancel the show altogether instead of reschedule it a second time.
"This was a rescheduled date and the band feels it better to cancel the date rather than reschedule for a second time," said a press release received by Tulsa Today this morning.
STP gained fame in 1992 with the release of their album "Core". The group went on to sell nearly 40 million albums worldwide in the 1990’s. They are currently on the second leg of a tour promoting their self-titled album that was released in May, 2010.
No reason was given for the cancellation of their show which was scheduled to take place on November 17 at the Brady Theater. According to the band’s website, there are no tour dates scheduled between November 6 and December 1. Anyone who purchased tickets for either date through a Protix outlet can have their money refunded by calling 1-866-977-6849.
