Mayor Kathy Taylor will join DuPont engineers participating in the "Science in the School Day" program on Thursday.
Field engineers will work side-by-side with students in constructing "puff mobiles" out of everyday materials such as drinking straws and lifesavers. The children will then race their "puff mobiles" at the conclusion of the event.
More than 125 fourth and fifth graders at Houston and Anderson elementary schools will participate in the program.
Science in the School Day is a hands-on project to introduce and encourage students to consider careers in science and engineering.
Taylor will be at Houston Elementary, 5402 N. Cincinnati Ave., at 9 a.m.,
and at Anderson Elementary, 1921 E. 29th St. North, at 1 p.m.
