Mullin Bill to Protect Small Businesses

U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) highlighted in a release today legislation to decrease the size and scope of the authority of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to protect small businesses from big labor union special interests.

Mullin’s Small Businesses Before Bureaucrats Act will update outdated revenue thresholds and release many small businesses from the purview of the NLRB. Though the NLRB was designed to be a balanced, impartial adjudicator, the Biden-Harris administration has weaponized the agency to undermine workers and job creators by bending the knee to big labor unions.

Tulsan Darren Dale at Sea during RIMPAC

In the photo below, Machinist Mate 3rd Class Darren Dale, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, combats a class bravo fire in the main engine room aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) during Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2024. This is the same type of ship and annual RIMPAC exercise featured in the science fiction movie “Battleship.”

Twenty-nine nations, 40 surface ships, three submarines, 14 national land forces, more than 150 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC in and around the Hawaiian Islands, June 27 to Aug. 1. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans. The Opening Olympic Ceremony 2024

This morning, I saw clips from the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The imagery was, let’s say, astonishing. It presented, among other things, a grotesque parody of Da Vinci’s Last Supper. In the place of Christ sat a stout woman with half-exposed breasts; one of the apostles was a homosexual man with testicles hanging out of a tight latex outfit; the rest of the apostles were replaced by transgender individuals and other figures who have surgically or otherwise rejected the task of being a man or a woman. Among this group, there was also a young girl – a sign of childlike innocence and purity.

Tulsa Housing Availability Jumps

Construction Coverage, a website that compares construction software and insurance, just released a new report on the largest cities that have seen the biggest increases in housing inventory. Tulsa enjoyed the 5th largest increase in America.

The current housing shortage—which is now estimated to be between four million and seven million homes—can trace its beginnings to long before the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 10 years following the Great Recession, the United States constructed fewer new homes than in any other decade since the 1960s.
